Macushla ArtsMacushla Arts is a small collective of artists who are all family and friends. It is an organic group which began with four artists and is currently six. They create handcrafted gifts and homewares, including textiles, turned wood, prints and jewellery. While they work in different materials they have common interests in upcycling and reclaiming material wherever possible, not only to reduce their environmental impact but also to make their work individual and unique. Most pieces are one-offs or limited editions.
The name “Macushla” (Mo chuisle in the original Gaelic) comes from Liverpool's Irish heritage. It is a term of endearment, meaning my darling, my love. It translates literally as 'My pulse', and is an affectionate shortening of the beautiful phrase 'A chuisle mo chro' - 'Pulse of my heart'. http://www.macushla-arts.com/ https://www.facebook.com/MacushlaArts |
