Ayhoka The name Ayhoka is a female name of Native North American origin. Its meaning, 'she who brings happiness', is perfect for the driftwood and beach craft designs that Barbara creates, aiming to bring happiness to those who choose them. The materials for the Ayhoka range are collected, mostly, from local beaches on the Sefton coastline. Barbara has always loved collecting these treasures and the natural progression was to put them together in new forms, ranging from mirrors to mobiles to jewellery and much more, and so create hand-crafted gifts that are beautiful and, of course, unique. Barbara also includes hand-felting, crocheting and mosaic work in some of her work, plus she loves the idea of recycling, upcycling and repurposing and does so whenever possible. The result is a range of work that is individual, unusual, unique and, very definitely, made with love. Some of Barbara's work is currently for sale at the Atkinson Gift Shop, Southport. Commissioned work is also undertaken. ayhoka@hotmail.com www.ayhoka.weebly.com www.facebook.com/ayhoka |
